Titanic Memorial, Liverpool. William Goscombe John

On this day  in 1912 Titanic sank on her maiden voyage, 15th April 1912. The ‘Memorial to the Engine Room Heroes’ commonly known as The Titanic memorial by William Goscombe John at the Pier head states “The brave do not die, their deeds live forever & call upon us to emulate their courage & devotion to duty”.  32 engineers of the Titanic stayed at their post as the ship was sinking in order to keep the ship afloat a little longer so that as many passengers as possible might escape.  Why not discover the other vivid and interesting statues at the waterfront on a walking tour with Experience Liverpool?
