Walking tour – 2 hours or coach tour taking in civic quarter and cathedrals too

Liverpool – from Castle to Cavern. 2 hours

Find out about how Liverpool grew from a little fishing hamlet to become Second City of the Empire. Learn about Liverpool’s role in World trade and Slavery.  See Albert Dock, the Waterfront, hear Titanic’s links to Liverpool. Have a photo with the Beatles Statue and journey past the Town Hall to the world famous Mathew St and the Cavern Club, where the Beatles graced the stage 292 times!

Hope Street Tours

Hope Street, Georgian Quarter

Walking tour – 2 hours (extend to include access to both Cathedrals)

Walk the length of Hope Street between the two Cathedrals. Along the way hear tales of heroes, slavetraders, poets, The Beatles and see fine Georgian architecture, Public Art plus Liverpool’s grandest pub with famous toilets!

Walking tour – 1.5 hours from Quarry to Cathedral

From Quarry to Cathedral, we will take in the changing uses of St James Mount and discover the awe and wonder of Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral, a neo-gothic, 20th century giant, the fifth largest cathedral in the world. (Tour covers the gardens and interior of the Cathedral)

Art Gallery Highlights Tour

Gallery Site Tour – 1 hour

A highlights tour of either the Walker Art Gallery or Lady Lever Art Gallery.  Some of the finest collections outside London.  Particularly remarkable Pre-Raphaelite works. 

The Lady Lever is also renowned for its collection of exquisite Wedgewood Jasperware.

The Walker Art Gallery collection strides everything from Medieval Art to contemporary painting.

Walking tour – 2 hours

City Centre Beatles Walk.  On foot get a selfie with the popular Beatles statue, see statues of Brian Epstein, Eleanor Rigby and old haunts and related sites like the former NEMS record shop. Walk the length of Mathew street where your guide can accompany you into into the Cavern Club, where they performed 292 times in their early years, or end your tour here to stay for longer. (club entrance £5 pp extra)

‘There are Places I Remember’. The Beatles

Coach tour - 2 hours

Beatles city sights and suburbs by coach, see the Pier Head Beatles statue, George and Paul’s secondary school, John and Stu’s art college and more, then head out to locations synonymous with Beatles’ songs like ‘Penny Lane’ where you’ll want to snap a photo with the iconic road sign and also see the red gates of Strawberry Field.

Also view Ringo’s and John Lennon’s childhood homes from the exterior. Narrated with stories from your guide and Beatles music to add to the atmosphere.

Monumental.  Art and Statues Walking Tour

We will explore a wide range of public art, statues and monuments along the waterfront telling Liverpool’s overall story through these pieces. Everything from Superlambananas to Liverpool Mountain and the memorial to the Engine room workers of the Titanic.

Coach Tour

Discover Antony Gormley’s striking ‘Another Place’, also known as the Iron Men on Crosby Beach. There are 100 spread over 2km. We will be able to walk up close to a couple of them. No visit to the beach is complete without fish and chips too!

(Can also be extended by coach to see other Public Art commissions in the Region such as Dream by Jaume Plensa in St Helens and visit Tate Liverpool or the Walker Art Gallery)

Exploring the history of Port Sunlight Village,  the home of Sunlight Soap and the unfolding story of William Hesketh Lever   “the Soap King”. Explore this picture-perfect English model village on the Wirral peninsula.

Walking tour – 2 hours

William Brown Street, St John’s Gardens, St George’s Hall, Central Library. Exploring the marvellous neo-classical buildings that show Liverpool’s Victorian wealth and philanthropy, also acknowledging links to the slave trade and slave economy.  Visit Liverpool Central Library and see the most elegant Victorian Reading Room and discover some of the Library’s unique collections

Urban Regeneration Tour

 

Walking tour -1.5 hours

Begin a walking tour explaining Liverpool’s dramatic regeneration of the Albert Dock and waterfront in the 1980s and then turning our attention to the completely rebuilt city centre of Liverpool One, a brand new shopping development which connects the city back to the docks. See clever uses of architecture which respond to and celebrate the city’s heritage, history and original architecture.

Could also be combined with a coach tour looking at wider regeneration in the city

Walking Tour – 2 hours

On this tour we will uncover the history of several great women with links to the Georgian Quarter and Toxteth area. Figures such as Margaret Simey an “elegant devil that people loved to hate”, Kitty Wilkinson “Saint of the slums” and many others. The walk is not just for women but anyone who is interested.

Sefton Park & Palm House Tour

 

Walking tour – 2 hours

Sefton Park is an exquisite Victorian park and green lung in the city. Dating from 1872, see it in a new way as we discover its design features and former glories.  Step inside the Palm House hear about its turbulent history. With your guide appreciate the beautiful flora and fauna as well as its evocative statues like Peter Pan and Highland Mary.

Chinatown Cultural Walk

 

Walking Tour - 1.5 hours

Liverpool’s Chinatown is the oldest in Europe.  Hear about Chinatown old and new. Taste a Cantonese egg custard tart and explore what the street furniture and signs of Chinatown represent on this cultural walk.
